Sweet Mouth Espresso Cup Collab With Seiu Yang

Seiu Yang was my first resident artist in Portugal in May of 2025. She's been on a 3 year long residency journey now, traveling from country to country and working from different studios all over the world. You could say she is a professional artist in residence. 

I was honored that she trusted us to stay for. couple of weeks and bring along two artist friends from Japan, at a time where there was so much uncertainty about our studio and residency house. She brought great perspective, and creative energy. Spending time with her filled me with so much hope for the future of our fledgling residency and retreat programs- she boosted my morale in ways I cannot explain in a short description here, but I am so grateful to her.

While we were sharing studio time and creative energy, we collaborated on this one of a kind, other worldly espresso cup. It was a bit of back and forth: I threw the cup, she sculpted the details onto it, and then I glazed it.

It's available here as a fundraiser for the community and residency studio's electrical upgrade.
