Our little village of Salgueiro may have a population of about 450 people, but there are a surprising number of lovely accommodations available with my friends/neighbors, and just a short drive away in neighboring villages.
If you're coming for a retreat, or residency and Villa do Barro is full, have a look at these places. Some places have special rates for our guests if you contact them directly, rather than using the booking site. I've noted those below, as well as the distance from each to the studio.
These accommodations are first come, first served, and bookings fees are paid directly to the hosts and are not included in the retreat packages.
Vistas de Serenidade/Serenity Views in Salgueiro
This sweet renovated barn, belongs to my neighbors Steve and Liesa. It's a 6 minute walk from our home and studio and has all the modern amenities: sun terrace, garden, and free WiFi, fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, and private check-in and check-out services.
It's nestled into the apple orchards with a private outdoor seating area, picnic spot, and barbecue facilities. Free on-site private parking is available, along with a work desk and dining table.
The space has one bedroom with a double bed, as well as a pull-out sofa, so it's best for a couple or for friends who don't mind sharing the space.

Casa Branca do Moinho in Salgueiro
On the other side of our village is the lovely Casa Branca do Moinho, a spacious holiday home in Salgueiro, Portugal. The property features two bedrooms (one single and one double), a living room, and a private pool. Guests enjoy a sun terrace, garden, and seasonal outdoor swimming pool.
Modern Amenities: The holiday home provides free WiFi, a fully equipped kitchen, and a washing machine. Additional facilities include an outdoor play area, children's playground, and barbecue facilities. Paid on-site private parking is available.

Vale do Grou Natura in Obidos
This lovely guest house is an 8 minute drive from the studio in the neighboring village of Delgada. Vale do Grou Natura offers a country house with a sun terrace, garden, and free Wi-Fi. Guests have access to a lounge, shared kitchen, outdoor seating area, and picnic areas.
The accommodation features private bathrooms with walk-in showers, air conditioning, and tiled floors. Additional amenities include a tea/coffee maker, hairdryer, dining table, and work desk.
