4" Raphidophora Tetrasperma Planter Spiderwort Glaze

Raphidophora Tetrasperma was a wish list plant for me back in 2020, and I was able to trade some pots for an unrooted cutting of one that summer. It took forever to start to grow, but once it did… wow! What a prolific plant. I love it so much I had to make it into a planter. And after our move to Portugal in 2024 I had to start over with a new cutting, so I wanted to pay homage again. This particular pot was actually made in my Portugal studio and smuggled over in my carry on bag. ha ha.
The leaf is hand sculpted and added to the planter. I then carve the details, making deep grooves for the glaze to pool in.
The pot is left unglazed and will patina over time. The leaf and saucer are glazed in a Spiderwort, a mottled light green glaze with hints of burgundy.
