jordan-coons-double-walled-vase-collab
Jordan Coons Double Walled Vase Collab

Jordan came to Portugal last summer for a residency and to lead our first ceramics retreat. We had so much fun playing in the studio together that we made a few pieces fusing our individual styles and our mutual love of double walled vessels. This vase was the most complicated and delicate piece.

Jordan threw the form and we decided to use my Adansonii leaves as the theme for the piece, with Jordan carving the leaves and me adding sculpted leaves as well. After Jordan returned to NY, it was up to me to decide how to glaze this big beauty, and it was no easy task! I did several tests and the finished piece is so far from what I first imagined but in the very best way!

you can see some of the process videos:

https://www.instagram.com/reel/Daw2hvcsiu5/?cplk=MThidDdvaDl4ZHBpdw==

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DavbJO0suxU/?srtk=aTN3MjJsbnEyZGFh

https://www.instagram.com/reel/Dcnqly7MP8y/?psln=MWIzdHN4dHRkeTY4Zg==

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DcqCPfLMWdf/?obrf=czRkZHJ0dHVsdG9o

https://www.instagram.com/reel/Dcx71TiMGMu/?exln=MjE1dWU5MGI1bHdr

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DdbrqK4MdH1/?xtok=ZTMyczBvaXloOXo5

They can be yours as a thank you for donating to our studio fundraiser for the community/ residency studio's electrical upgrade.

Each donation amount listed below gives you an entry into the random drawing for this one of a kind, functional work of art, and goes directly towards the cost of upgrading the studio electricity to fire bigger kilns.
